A recent court filing states that the civil complaint, which accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter of sexually assaulting a girl who was thirteen years old at the time of the alleged occurrences, was dismissed on Friday.
According to the petition, Jane Doe’s legal team requested that the court reject the claim “with prejudice,” meaning that the claim would be dismissed without further review.
“Counsel for Plaintiff has discussed this matter with counsel for each defendant, who acknowledges and consents to this submission,” read the brief notice of voluntary dismissal. “This submission has been accepted by all lawyers involved.”
The two faced accusations of raping the teenager at an after-party following the Video Music Awards in 2000. The complaint was filed the previous year. However, despite acknowledging that her narrative included contradictions, the plaintiff continued to stand by her assertions.
Carter and Combs have denied the charges, and their lawyers say the dismissal proves them without merit.
The decision to dismiss the fabricated case against Jay-Z was biased and never intended to proceed.d. “Jay has done what few people can do by standing up in the face of heinous and false allegations. Alex Spiro, the attorney for Carter, stated on Friday, “He has pushed back, he has never settled, he has never paid a single red penny, and he has triumphed and cleared his name.”
The case that was first filed by the lady was one of several anonymous civil complaints that were filed against Combs by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee. Additionally, Tony Buzbee initially filed the claim in October of 2024. The lawsuit underwent modifications in December 2024 to include Carter as a defendant.
In both public remarks and court documents, Carter and his attorney said unequivocally that they did not believe the allegations to be true. They also accused Buzbee, the attorney for the lady, of waging an “extortionate campaign” against Carter.
Carter mentioned his entertainment firm, Roc Nation, and addressed the discharge, saying, “Today is a victory.”
He dismissed the frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations. “This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere.”
In addition, Carter stated that the “trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed,” and he emphasized that the court must protect victims as well as “the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence.”
After the dismissal on Friday, Combs’ legal team issued a statement in which they disparaged the attorney who had initiated the lawsuit.
According to his legal representatives, the 1-800 attorney’s complete dismissal today is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are based on falsehoods, not facts. We have witnessed, over several months, case after case that was brought up by persons who hid behind anonymity and that was pushed forward by an attorney who was more concerned with media headlines than legal substance. This assertion and others will fall apart because they are false.
The majority of the cases that Buzbee has filed against Combs have been unsuccessful because the plaintiffs have not been identified.
During the month of September in the year 2024, Combs was hauled into custody to face claims of sex trafficking at the federal level. He is being held at the federal facility in Brooklyn known as the Metropolitan Detention Center.
. He vehemently asserts that none of it occurred.
In a statement released on Friday, a representative for Sean Combs denied allegations that the singer had ever engaged in sexual misconduct or trafficked in any person, regardless of age.
No amount of litigation, sensationalized charges, or media theatrics will alter this fact. Those responsible for [these] false claims will be held to account, and we will continue to fight these fraudulent allegations. As far as the written law goes, this is but the earliest of many cases that will fail.
